Fuzzy’s Incredible Hole-in-One

September 20th, 2010 — 4:22pm

Ever shot a hole-in-one?

…me neither…

Apparently Tiger Woods shot his first hole-in-one at the tender young
age of 7.

(That is just not fair)

I’ve played a thousand rounds of golf, and have come close to a
hole-in-one, but never had the magic happen.

One of our first scorecard users -
http://clubhouse.swingbyswing.com/blog/scorecard-highlights/
- shot a hole-in-one the first round after purchasing the module! It
allowed him to find a bug in the software which did not allow 0 putts
to be entered…

(So, the lucky guy had to enter a 1 for his score, and a 1 for his
putt, which I immediately updated in the database for him when he
contacted me after the round.)

And I’ve never seen anything like this Fuzzy Zoeller hole-in-one…
first he shoots it into the rough, and it sits for a few seconds
before rolling out…

The video is incredible… it had me smiling for an hour. Hope you
enjoy it. Thanks for being a Swing by Swing user!

Goodness! Gracious! Great Ball of Fire!

September 15th, 2010 — 4:44pm

The Swing by Swing offices are based out of
Northern Colorado.

We’ve got a bunch of wildfires burning out here
right now, and it reminded me of this crazy story
I heard a couple weeks ago…

A golfer playing in Irvine California (a great
place to play golf year-round) was hitting from
the rough. He struck a rock and set off a spark.

The spark started a fire, which burned through the
rough, out of the golf course, and over two
hillsides.

It took 150 firefighters to put it out!

Talk about a lot of “irons in the fire!”

Check out the pic (and read the 6,014 ridiculously
funny comments) here:

Yeah, that link is on an external website, but
some things are just too good to keep to myself!

Enjoy,

PS. Irvine and Orange County California have some
fantastic golf courses.

I’m told one of the best anywhere in the world, is
Pelican Hill near Newport Beach. Of course, unless
you live in the area, you’d have to take time off
work, get on a plane, stay at a hotel, and spend a
bunch of money.

However, I know a way to play some of the most
famous courses in the world without ever leaving
your computer. Play courses like St. Andrews, Bali
Hai, and Pinehurst in full HD video – right on
your computer. For free.

This is cool stuff:

6 Steps to the Perfect Golf Swing

September 13th, 2010 — 2:22pm

My wife is taking up the game of golf.

So, I’ve been looking for a dead-simple explanation of the right way
to swing a club.

I found it, and learned a couple of common sense tips myself:

http://www.chucktheputter.com/golf-tips/6-steps-to-the-perfect-golf-swing/

If you’ve been golfing for any length of time, you already know there
is enough confusing information out there to put you on info-overload.

I especially love when they say to only keep one “swing thought” in your
brain at a time… Yeah right… After reading 1,001 golf tips, and
listening to my buddies, and watching golf on TV, I have a whole lot
more than one thought going on…

Well, this video has more than one thought to keep track of, but it is
a dead simple, step-by-step explanation of the swing from setup through
finish, which any golfer can benefit from.

Like I said, I even learned a couple of common sense tips. Check it
out here:

Why to Never Aim Where You’re Hitting

September 13th, 2010 — 2:21pm

PGA pro Brady Wilson just told me, “You should never aim where you’re
hitting.”

What??

Apparently, lot’s of golfers make the mistake of aligning their feet and
shoulders to the target. But… you shouldn’t do that!

For a right handed golfer, this alignment mistake is actually causing you
to aim your shot to the right of the target. (For lefties, if you line up
to the target, you’re aiming left.)

To learn proper alignment, check out this video:

http://www.chucktheputter.com/golf-tips/alignment/

In this video, Brady says this mistake “will result in an awkward
situation, if you’re results driven.”

It’s just a funny way of saying you’re gonna royally regret your alignment
mistake…

If YOU are results driven on the golf course, you’ll get a tremendous
amount of value from the Swing by Swing PRO membership.

When the Swing by Swing PRO Membership is re-released to the public, you’ll
gain access to 3D course flyovers, pre-round planning tools, club tracker
module for your phone, and in-depth post-game analysis.

Those on the launch day notification list will get a lifetime discount, and
first crack at launch day bonuses which will not be available to anybody
else.

Getting on the list is free, and you can do it here:

How Putting is Like Playing Roulette in Vegas

September 13th, 2010 — 2:19pm

Sometimes when I’m standing at a table in Vegas, and I have too much
money on the line… I really feel alive.

It’s weird… and I’m not a big gamer. In fact, I’m so competitive I
hate to lose. (I’ve been known to skip the family Monolopy

night because if I lose it could ruin my weekend.)

But there is just something about having a little too much money on
the line that throws a jolt of adrenaline in the blood. It

makes me nervous with anticipation.

It could be GREAT! Or… it could be TERRIBLE!

Only when the spinning wheel stops will I know.

It’s a lot like standing over a big putt.

If there’s money on the line, or just bragging rights – it sends a
jolt of adrenaline through the blood.

You think to yourself, “This is a big putt. Gotta drain it.”

If it goes in, it will be GREAT! If you miss, it will be TERRIBLE!

On the course, it’s times like this where the money is made. It’s
where those who lack nerve get the yips.

That’s why today’s tip from Chuck the Putter is about practicing
putting pressure on yourself during putting practice.

http://www.chucktheputter.com/golf-tips/put-on-some-putting-pressure/

Whether you use the drill in the video above, or any of a thousand
other ways… you should always practice some of your putting by

putting the pressure on. Next time you get into a high pressure
situation on the course, you won’t feel your “cajones” shriveling

up quite so much.

Enjoy!

PS. When you’re ready to take your game to the next level, with smart
technology, get on the PRO membership launch day notification list.

http://clubhouse.swingbyswing.com/pro-notification/

Those on the launch day notification list will receive a lifetime
discount to the PRO membership, which will provide you with cool golf
tools to improve your game, like, satellite golf course flyovers, club
tracker technology, post-round analysis, customized golf instruction
(based upon YOUR game), and much much more.

We are in the final stages of negotiating DVD’s to integrate with the
club. We’ll show you how to improve your swing (hit it farther and
more consistently) AND make smarter golf decisions. Your buddies won’t
know what hit ‘em…
